Richland County Fair

August 6 @ 11:00 am August 12 @ 7:00 pm

Join Richland Soil and Water Conservation District and other community organizations at the Nature Park during the Richland County Fair. The Nature Park exhibit space will provide information and contests on a variety of topics related to nature and conservation.

On Tuesday, kids and families are invited to join us at 3:00 p.m. on the Nature Park stage for Conservation Storytime and activities. We’ll read The Very Hunger Caterpillar and Martha Milkweed Has No Friends.

On Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. kids age 8 to 17 will have fun exploring the Nature Park in a scavenger hunt, plus have a chance to win great hourly prizes donated by Richland County Solid Waste Management Authority. Scavenger Hunt rules will be available on the back of the Hunt entry form. Written parental or guardian consent for media and photos is required in the rules.

4:00 p.m.       “Malabar Farm – A Hidden Gem in Richland County,” Mark Sommer, Park Naturalist   

7:00 p.m.       Live music with Mid-Ohio Band

TUESDAY, August 8

3:00 p.m.       Reading and activities of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” with Richland Soil and Water Conservation  District

4:00 p.m.      “Native Pollinator Landscaping – Backyards for Pollinators,” Bill Flanagan Richland County Master Gardener

7:00 p.m.       Live music with Matt Goodrich


11:00 a.m      Kids Scavenger Hunt

3:00 p.m.      “Snakes of Richland County,” RCPD Staff, Richland County Park District

4:00 p.m.      Meet Nathan and his Black Labrador Retriever, May, from the ODNR, Div. of Wildlife K9 Unit 

7:00 p.m.      Live music with Oolong Gurus Band- Country/Rock and Roll

THURSDAY,  August 10

3:00 p.m.      “Basic Beekeeping,” Richland Area Beekeepers Association 

4:00 p.m.      “Reduce Your Stormwater Footprint – Simple Conservation Practices,” Kim Hildreth, Project Planner, City of Mansfield Engineering Department

7:00 p.m.      Live music with Taylor Schlupp- Acoustic Trio

FRIDAY,  August 11

3:00 p.m.      “Live Bird of Prey Demonstration,” The Ohio Bird Sanctuary

4:00 p.m.      “Building Natural Connections,” presentation and hands-on activity with Kingwood Center Gardens

7:00 p.m.       Live music with Calling All Rednecks

SATURDAY, August, 12

7:00 p.m.      Live music with SB Music- Classic Rock
