The Foundation hosts Richland Gives to build capacity\, grow philanthropy\, and make the community stronger. \n\n\n\nDue to the generosity of past donors through Richland Gives\, Richland SWCD has funded grants to urban and rural residents for soil tests\, rain barrels\, native seeds for rain gardens and native plants. \n\n\n\nDonors like you help us continue to provide a resource for landowners interested in conserving and preserving soil and water health for our current and future generations.  We provide advice\, recommendations and education on a wide range of conservation programs and are responsible for soil and water integrity in the County. Staff educates and works with landowners\, farmers\, government agencies and partners on a wide range of natural resource and agricultural conservation management programs.     \n\n\n\nLast year\, we raised $1\,195 to support soil and water conservation!  Thank you for your generosity! \n\n\n\nWe are asking you to continue your generosity again this year. DESCRIPTION:We are proud to host the Area 2 Envirothon this year. The ENVIROTHON is a high school competition held annually designed to stimulate\, reinforce and enhance interest the environment and natural resources. Students are tested on their knowledge of soils\, forestry\, wildlife\, aquatic ecology and current environmental issues. In addition\, the Envirothon encourages cooperative decision-making and team building. While each student on a team is challenged individually to contribute his or her personal best\, the score that counts at the end of the competition is the team score. A team consists of five students\, all from the same high school. An adult advisor (or advisors) must accompany the team but is not permitted to assist the team during the competition. SUMMARY:Pond Fish Sale Order Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Orders for our pond fish sale are due April 17. Choose from Bluegill\, Yellow Perch\, Largemouth Bass\, Fathead Minnows\, Channel Catfish\, Hybrid Bluegill\, Redear Bluegill\, and White Amurs. Click on this link to order fish\, pond conditioner\, Optimal Fish Food\, plastic bags and twist ties. \n\n\n\nPick up is at the Richland County Fairground Horse Barn April 25 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Please bring enough containers to hold the purchased fish. Five-gallon buckets work well. Each container must have an unscented poly liner (30 gallon trash bag). The bags are necessary to hold oxygen to keep the fish alive during transport. Do not use a lid; use a twist tie or twine to close the bag. Fill the container one-third full with pond water the fish will be put in. General rule of thumb: one container per 100 small fish\, one container per 1\,000 minnows\, one container per 4-5 amurs. Please help with loading and unloading your container in and out of your vehicle. This will help expedite the delivery process.

DESCRIPTION:Join us and many partners for the kick off for this year’s Earth Stewardship Celebration! This is our 29th year of individuals\, organizations\, non-profits\, businesses\, and government to make where we live\, work\, and play a little better. The Earth Stewardship Celebration is an opportunity for residents\, churches\, nonprofit/community organizations\, businesses\, school and government agencies to renew their commitment to our community by scheduling and conducting a litter clean up\, beautification project\, tree planting\, and/or recycling drive moving us toward a more sustainable community and environment.
